The Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies program provides students with the training and technical knowledge necessary for employment as paralegals. Students graduate with the skills necessary to communicate with legal professionals effectively both verbally and in writing. Paralegals apply their legal knowledge and terminology to draft legal documents such as civil complaints and answers, deeds, contracts, mortgages, and separation agreements. Paralegals also interview clients and witnesses as well as perform investigations. They also help to prepare cases for trial in criminal and civil court.
Paralegals are an important group of professionals who assist attorneys in the delivery of legal services. Through formal education, training and experience, they have knowledge and expertise regarding the legal system and substantive and procedural law which qualify them to do work of a legal nature under the supervision of an attorney in criminal law, civil law, corporate law, and administrative law.
In addition to these opportunities, a paralegal degree provides additional professional advantages. There are many professions that, while not titled ‘paralegal,” are able to make use of paralegal related skills. Some of these professions include: Real Estate Professionals, Landlords/Property Managers, Patent Clerks, Investigative Positions, Social Services, and Office Managers. The objective of this program is to provide students with the training, and technical knowledge necessary for entry-level employment as paralegals. Graduates will be able to communicate their findings and opinions effectively, both orally and in writing, and will be able to perform manual and computerized case research. They will effectively apply legal terminology, as well as perform investigative skills necessary to assist in the drafting of such documents as contracts, mortgages, separation agreements, trust instruments, tax returns, shareholder agreements, stock option plans and employee benefit plans. Graduates will understand the paralegal’s place in the legal community, and will understand as well that, except as permitted by law, paralegals do not provide legal services directly to the public.
Graduates will understand the paralegal's place in the legal community. They will know the difference between admissible and inadmissible, and relevant and irrelevant evidence. They will know how to properly question witnesses, and will understand the burden of proof in civil and criminal cases. They will be able to successfully understand and perform manual and computerized case research. Each student must complete an externship as part of the Paralegal Studies Program. A minimum of 120 hours of externship is required prior to the completion of the program.

The LPN to RN Bridge with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing is a 15 month program, after completion of a LPN Program and passing the PN NCLEX. The curriculum is comprised of classroom, laboratory and clinical learning experiences. The course is designed to prepare the graduate as a beginning generalist practitioner, functioning as a provider of care, coordinator of care and as a member of the nursing profession. The criteria for admission includes attending a Nursing Information Session (NIS) where specific criteria are outlined, and acceptance by the Nursing Admissions Committee.
Clinical experiences and skills laboratory classes accompany each nursing lecture course to give the student hands-on learning in a safe environment. Computer testing is performed to prepare the student for licensure testing.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program has partnered with the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) to ensure the graduates have the fundamental management skills and knowledge in three core knowledge domain areas: Management, Planning and Organizing, and Leading and Controlling. The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management is designed to prepare individuals to apply managerial principles to the administration of health care facilities.
Graduates acquire an understanding of the health services sector, particularly its political, social and economic dimensions. Upon completion of the Health Care Management program, graduates will be prepared to assume entry and mid-level positions in health care administration in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health care facilities.
Students in their senior year of this program will be placed in an appropriate health care facility in order to apply the skills acquired in their collegiate coursework. Students must have previously earned at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (AAS) and hold a current and valid RN license in order to be admitted to this program. BSN and MSN graduates are also eligible.
The Legal Nurse Consulting Certificate program provides students with the training and technical knowledge necessary for employment as legal nurse consultants, and prepares them for the CLNC (Certified Legal Nurse Consultant) Exam. The legal nurse consultant is a licensed, registered nurse who performs a critical analysis of clinical and administrative nursing practices, as well as health care facts and issues and their outcomes for the legal profession, health care professions, consumers of health care and legal services, and others as appropriate. With a strong educational and experiential foundation, the legal nurse consultant is qualified to assess adherence to standards and guidelines of health care practice as it applies to the nursing and health care professions.
Legal professionals seeking legal nurse consultants recognize the expertise of RN-licensed nurses with the medical and legal education, training and experience necessary to give them advice on medical matters in a legal setting.
